Our story
Georgie White and Sami Rose started Queers of the North in May 2025. Too many groups promised to bring the community together and didn't, so we built the thing we wanted to go to.
What began as a coffee morning with eight strangers is now a regional network with an engaged membership. We became a Community Interest Company in March 2026.
Today we use the network to share resources, run events, reach members in real time and stand up for LGBTQIA+ rights across the North.
Our mission
To create and promote safe spaces where LGBTQIA+ people feel seen, supported and free to be themselves. Spaces to grow with pride and build friendships that last.
Our vision
A loud, visible LGBTQIA+ network across the North that connects people to events and resources, amplifies diverse voices, and pushes for change on the issues that matter most.
