Queer spaces have always existed, but connector organisations with the purpose of bringing members of the LGBTQIA+ community together often fall short. Queers of the North was founded on that basis, with a mission to unify queer people through the creation of spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to be their authentic selves, grow with pride, and build lasting connections.
Founded in May 2025 by Georgie White and Sophie Rose, and registering as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in March 2026, Queers of the North has become one of the most trusted LGBTQIA+ organisations in the region.
Today, Queers of the North doesn't just host events, it builds permanent community infrastructure. The work has evolved from creating temporary moments of connection to launching a formalised regional network with a highly engaged membership base.
This network is an active growing mechanism that is used to reach members of the community in real time, share resources, deliver programming, and advocate directly for LGBTQIA+ rights.
We celebrate and respect the full spectrum of LGBTQIA+ identities, creating spaces where everyone feels welcome and valued. We uplift and amplify LGBTQIA+ voices, helping individuals embrace their authenticity and reach their full potential.
We foster awareness, challenge biases, and provide opportunities to learn and grow through open dialogue and shared knowledge of lived experiences. We offer a safe environment where members can access vital resources to engage further with the community.
We speak up for equity, visibility, and the rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals within our communities. We act with honesty, accountability, and transparency in all that we do.
We build meaningful connections and foster a sense of belonging, solidarity, and collective strength. We champion representation and ensure LGBTQIA+ individuals are seen, heard, and acknowledged in all spaces. We honor diverse experiences, identities, and perspectives, and uphold the dignity of every person.
