Why you should join our community

We bring members of the LGBTQIA+ together intentionally. This is a space for you to be your authentic self.

You'll gain access to exclusive content, invites to member-only events, and a first-look at all we do.

Our community has been built by queer people, and we want your voices to help shape what we do next.

What our network members say

Matthew (he/him/they/them)

"The Queer’s of the North team have played a vital role in my connection with fellow LGBTQIA+ people in the North East. Events such as The Queer Coffee Club and Friends of Dorothy Book Club have allowed me to make friends with new people and offer me opportunities within the community.

They constantly strive to spread the word of queer events in all forms of entertainment, creative and sporting fields, making sure everyone is catered for, accepted, and welcome."

"As a person who only discovered my queer identity later in life, Queers of the North has been an incredible community and resource for me to connect with local people and understand myself.

I joined the WhatsApp chat community when I was still figuring myself out, and was welcomed with zero questions or gatekeeping. The sharing of local events and resources, discussions about TV shows, and random late night chats about 90s schoolyard toys, all made me feel very welcome in this community. QOTN was a major factor in me accepting that my queerness was not something to be ashamed of, and that there are others out there like me.

It’s given me the confidence to start to attend some of the in person events, which I’m sure will be equally inclusive and welcoming."

"Queers of the North had a pre-built community to wheel into when I moved to Newcastle. Georgie and Sami went out their way to provide information and advice which meant I felt more ease moving across the country!

Queers of the North is a super welcoming space for all age groups and a really fun place to spend my time."
